I played a bit this weekend and it started badly. I whitled away a buy-in and at one point was $15 away from having to move down to $50NL, but then I hit some nice hands and ended up about $450, so at the moment I'm on about $4.6k and hoping that I won't have to move down.
When I was $450 up, I got KK dealt on my last orbit before I went to sleep. I was very happy with my $450 and didn't really want to risk any, but I didn't want to play like a dweeb either. I raised to $3.50 UTG and a tight player in the cut-off made it $11. Then, an extremely tight player on the button (playing 8/5 over 250 hands) re-re-raised to $28. I laid down my KK, the cut-off folded, the button didn't show and I went to bet not knowing - pathetic play?

I swear hands like that ALWAYS come up when you want to leave, have unchecked the auto post blind option and are just seeing your free cards, are nicely up, and could lose a huge pot, then you get KK and huge action lol! You just kinda want rags so you can easily fold.
Was probably a good fold but I'm never folding KK pre flop in a cash game (or probably even tournament although I think I have maybe once lol) the amount of times you are up against AKs or QQ makes not folding it +EV in my opinion, but then you're better than me, so probably good fold, better to not be greedy and go to bed with a nice profit! He could have been using his tight image for a steal though, should have just blasted to see what he had! haha
Yeah defo, you get big pairs in the final round way more than any other time! I did say I would never fold KK pre-flop in a cash game, and I don't think I have for over a year, but this just felt like the right time. How's your pokering going? x
OK - I haven't played in ages though apart from like 10 minutes the other night, been busy need to put more hours in! (playing now).
Good win matey! nice that you persevered after the loss. Hard to say about the KK hand, is it 6 max? If he's only raising 5% of hands, surely his only 4 bet range is aces! Hate not knowing though...
Yeah it's 6max. That's what I thought, I can't see him playing AK like that with those stats, probably I'm just being a dweeb though. Christmas deepstack? with jambo? x
